Yu-Gi-Oh! Synopsis: Invisible in the back of the class, 10th-grade loner Yugi always had his head in some game — until he solved the Millennium Puzzle, an Egyptian artifact containing the spirit of a master gambler from the age of the pharaohs! Awakened after 3,000 years, the King of Games possesses Yugi, recklessly challenging evildoers to the Shadow Games, where even the most ordinary bet may result in weirdness beyond belief ... and the loser losing their mind! Who will win the Game of Silence? Who will win the Game of One Digit — Yugi’s thumb or a violent criminal’s finger on the trigger of a gun? And what about the Game of Air Hockey With Explosives Over a Hot Stove?

The Anime has Nothing on the Manga Sep 25, 2008 reviewed by Scorpian
For those of you used to the Yu-Gi-Oh! series that was based around the card game, you have no idea what you've been missing. The manga is just way better. It also doesn't focus on the card game. In fact, that game is barely even mentioned. I've read about 44 chapters, and it's only mentioned in 8, at most (most of which were 1 page references). The actual series is based around games. These games are usually life-or-death games. It is much more violent. It is much better. I actually enjoyed this quite a bit. However, some of the games played weren't well thought out and full of holes. It's just too unrealistic to be the best. That's why I only gave it 4 stars. I'd rather give it 4.5, though.
