Gravitation is one of the first animes I ever watched, and it's still one of my favorites. You get completely drawn in by all the characters, especially, naturally, Shuichi and Yuki. Yuki's back story is what I looked forward to the most, though I admit I don't feel they went into it enough in the anime. I'm sensing I probably will like the manga more (hence the reason I went out and tracked down the entire series). But still, though the manga will probably turn out to be better, I'd recommend this anime anyway, at least for the simple fact you can better get a feel for Shuichi's music (and love of music). It's harder to envision the music side of this story (which, being a music lover, I loved) in the manga form then it is in personal, BAM! right there in your face anime form. It might not be as good as far as the manga goes, but I feel if you're a fan of Gravitation, you'll be wanting more, so you're glad to get your hands on anything Gravitation related. That's how it was for me, it draws you in that well.

I've heard people say it's better to turn it to Japanese and watch with the subs because the dub loses some of the original storyline, but I personally wouldn't have an opinion on that. I loved Yuki's voice on the English dub. I thought it suited his character wonderfully, but then again I'm Yuki-biased.
