I decided to check out this anime since I adore it’s counterpart, Blood+ ( Which I greatly prefer and beg you not to confuse with the anime in this review ).

I had such high hopes for this film and I’m sad to say that Blood The Last Vampire was more than a bit of a letdown for me… I thought the animation was mediocre and the story was really pretty boring. The voice acting was also really dry… The characters seemed to lack depth and I just couldn’t care about them no matter how hard I tried.

Maybe, if I had seen this film first, and then seen the newer television series I might feel differently… Somehow I doubt it though… This may be considered a classic, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Bottom Line: I’d suggest skipping this one and spending your money on the upcoming Blood+ DVD release instead. It’s terrific, whereas the movie that inspired it leaves a lot to be desired.
