After fleeing from her mother's home, Asuna races to Zeon's National Defense University, where she finds Shinn, Emilu, and Erisia sightseeing. The gang decides to sneak into the University. But before they can get into too much trouble, combat breaks out in space, and an evacuation signal is given, returning the students to their school ship. Later, Asuna encounters a mysterious boy named Akira, who reveals that they were born and raised together--as experiments for a "superior hybrid breeding project." Meanwhile, Professor Forma discovers another shocking part of Asuna's past--the identity of her true father...
