When Mars is attached by alien invaders, the United Earth Government desperately orders the creation of a new kind of space battleship, the Nadesico. The space heroes assembled under the command of the beautiful Captain Yurika Misumaru include strong and talented women like the fifteen-year-old genius, Ruri Hoshino.
As the crew prepare themselves and their ship to meet the alien invaders from Jupiter, their star-crossed mission gets further complicated by romantic entanglements centering around the handsome cook-turned-robot pilot, Akito Tenkawa.
