Yu Yu Hakusho Synopsis: It was a typical day for Yusuke, go to school at noon, get kicked out by the teacher, fight with his rival Kuwabara, and head for home in time to wake his mom from her drunken stupor. But when he throws himself in front of a car to save a little kid’s life, he becomes Tokyo’s toughest teenage ghost! While his childhood friend Keiko grieves over his comatose body, Yusuke has one chance to return to life: raise a "spirit egg" at the behest of the comely Botan (aka Death) and her boss Koenma, lord of the infernal bureaucracy. But the creature that hatches from the spirit egg will be determined by the good or evil in Yusuke’s soul, if he’s not careful, he could create a monster!

Yu Yu Hakusho does have your typical blood, guts, and the ever popular good versus evil. Though in this story's case even the good isn't that good at the start. Yusuke Urameshi is your beyond typical junior high punk who loves getting in fights. Which he always seems to win until one day he gets into a fight with a car and is very much on the losing end. Through this fateful fight he is introduced to a whole new world and lots of very interesting people. If you like the whole save the world thing this is a must Read! But it isn't all serious it does have some very humerous moments and a few gushy mushy parts (keyword few).

its such a awesome action adventure comedy anime! its real real funny too i love it so much. the story it real good too. u probably would love all the characters from it and the cute lil animal to.

this is a great manga and anime its sweet as cake (not angel because thats nasty) love the story and the people in it just draws you in its really great and i really cant see why not to get it

I've watched the anime series and wanted to read the manga, the beginning of the series is slow and has a long tournament, this is good volume to start out on to get into the best arc of the series, it starts off with the very end of the tuguro fight, and a beautiful chapter off tuguro goodbye into, much more vivid than the anime, then the volume starts right off into the chapter black arc, when yusuke is captured and the kuwabara, kurama, hiei, botan, have to save thourgh mysterious challenges in an out this wolrd mansion. This volume is a great start to arc with an excellent plot and great action.
