Cute and Funny May 30, 2007 reviewed by Tsujoi
This manga is about a five year old little girl named Yotsuba. She has a childs wonder, finding even the most mundane of things interesting, such as doorbells, escalators, air conditioners, and even playground swings interesting. She often misunderstands when others try to teach her about those things, resulting in hilarious outcomes.
It's pretty much a daily life manga, much like Azumanga Daioh, the author's other work. This one is drawn regularly though, instead of the 4koma way of Azumanga.

as expected from the creator of azumanga daioh! Jan 26, 2008 reviewed by Tsuyo Puyo (Yotsuba Vol. 01)
if you just like manga in general, then i highly suggest this title! if you liked azumanga daioh, then i cannot stress how much you need to read this manga also, the humor is just right! it's not a highschool setting but the main character is of course yotsuba, who's like 6 years old and shes pretty clueless about things, but she's very funny and so are the other characters around her. im surprised this hasnt been turned into an anime yet because this manga is THAT good.

4 year old American in JAPAN!!! Oct 16, 2007 reviewed by Mobster Chibi
If you take the naive mind of an American 4 year old, and places her in a crazy place like Japan, you get Yotsuba! Yotsuba is a green hair 4 year old girl, who moves to Japan with her father, and honestly doesn’t know anything, which adds on the comedy to this story. There in Japan she meets her new neighbors and embarks on a new journey to learn about the world around her and of course, to cause chaos and fun to the people around her.
The manga itself is pure comedy! Unlike most other mangas that messes with your mind, Yotsuba just has flat out funny! There is no other way to describe it. It’s simple, and very much enjoyable. It’s a great read, and it’s always something that gets you laughing even when you are sad. I know it did for me. Like I have said before, what I like about the manga is the fact that it’s really simple. It doesn’t make you think, and it’s just overall entertaining. The manga also makes you feel good by sort of bringing you back to how life could have been for a 4 year old. Unlike Kiyohiko Azuma’s last work, “Azumanga Daioh”, “Yotsuba” has a developing plot line with many entertaining characters to tell it.
So if you’re ever looking for a good laugh, pick Yotsuba up. It might not look attracting enough to catch the eyes, but you won’t regret it.

One of the funniest manga out there Sep 25, 2007 reviewed by TheRoyalFamily
It really is.
Do not be fooled by the little girl on the cover. This series isn't just about her. While she is the main drive in the story, much of the humor comes from the reactions of people around her to her crazy antics. While little kids doing weird stuff may be cute (and it certainly is in this series), it isn't all that funny by itself. Fortunately, Yousuba has a great cast of secondary characters to laugh at (and sometimes with).
However, this story isn't all cicadas and sunflowers. It is 99% of the time, but there are hints here and there of something more tragic in the past, for all the characters. However, so far it is nothing BUT hints, so it doesn't bring the story down any, even in the short term.
This is a great saccharine-sweet series, and highly recommended to everybody.

Awesome Manga! May 09, 2008 reviewed by Marshy
If you are looking for an awesome comedy manga this is for you. The art is cute and blends with the story well. Everything Yotsuba does is hilarious. She is completely clueless about the world around her. It's in a day to day setting so there is really no plot to follow. It's just a nice, easy read if you are looking for something funny and enjoyable.
I love this manga so much I had to get the rest of them! I think anyone that picks this up will love it.

Incredible funny Aug 04, 2008 reviewed by Lutten
If you're looking for a cute, funny manga with a 4-years-old kid that still has to experience things, you read this. Yotsuba has a different way of thinking and no knowledge at all, which is what makes this manga so priceless. She's new in town, but she could very well be new on the planet earth.
I don't regret buying this, and I doubt that you will.

Yotsuba is a strange little green haired 5 year old. Amazingly she always finds something interesting or fun to do! Whether it's playing with her neighbors Ena, Fuka, and Asagi, going to the park, or doing simple errands she always finds something interesting to do.
I LOVE this manga! I really wish they would make an anime of it.
