The next Shonen Series...Bread Making? Jun 15, 2007
reviewed by Shin
Iron Cheif, Hell's Kitchen, and E channel all together. Eat your heart out and some tasty bread with it. Make sure to include a reaction.
Azuma Kazuma. The boy with Solar Hands. He is not very intelligent or even all there. But his bread making skills are unparralell. His goal, Dream, Desire. To make Japan on par with the rest of the world. Japan lacks a national bread. It has rice instead. So he wants to create...Japan(Japanese Bread). Made by the Japanese people, For the Japanese people, Eat with Japanese food. He decides to try out for the local pastery place where he meets other interesting characters and his best friends...Kawachi and Tsukino. Toegether with the power of a manager with an Afro(Funk is on thier side). They will be taking on not just Japan but the whole word in order to create a Bread for the Japanese people
This is one of the best Shonen series. Again like mentioned in Eyeshield. It does not take itself to seriously. It has those moments. But for the most part it stays true to the vibe. But the stand out thing in it is...The Reactions. They are easily the best part of the anime. The reacts are tons of silly weird parodies on things, or just plain random fun. If your looking for a good laugh or a fun time. Be sure to eat some tasty bread made in Japan...Yakitate Japan

Freshly Baked!! Jul 30, 2007
reviewed by Parasyte
The story is about a talented 16-year-old baker, with not much technical knowledge of being a baker, who posseses The Hands of the Sun(a special break-making talent) and gets a job at a famous bakery chain, Pantasia. Very funny series, you'll really enjoy the first volume. Although it has the cliche shounen-competition story(hyper boy who finds his special power and keeps evolving) it's still very enjoyable and has ots of original, likeable characters. There is also an anime adaptation.
