When fantasy and real life collide... Jun 26, 2007
reviewed by Rena
Sorcerers & Secretaries combines the made-up fantasy world the main character, Nicole, is writing about, along with her lack of a life in the real world. When she's reunited with her old neighbor/crush, Josh, she's conflicted about how to deal with him--is he just adding her to his list of conquests or does he really care about her?
Since this is American manga, it takes a little getting used to reading left to right and the line art is more like traditional American comics. However, the two storylines--Nicole's fantasy story and her real life--are both entertaining and (for the RL story) relateable. This is a fun story for anyone that enjoys both shojo manga and fantasy stories, like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.
