Not really worth it... Jun 07, 2007
reviewed by annalee
Okay, I've only read up to book 2 so I probably shouldn't judge it too harshly, but there is nothing going for this manga. My friend originally bought the first book for me as a present, so I decided to continue buying it, even if the storyline wasn't too appealing, but I really don't think it's that great. I've bought the third book for months now and I haven't even tried opening it.
There are so many stupid parts in this manga that you'll be left shaking your head. The story mainly revolves around a girl named Yuzu who is a priestess at the shrine of the morning mist, a family shrine that her and her sisters are all apart of. Her cousin (and childhood sweetheart)Hiro, comes to stay and goes to school with her, and because he's some special guy, monsters from all over the world have now tried to come and abduct him.
Instead of kicking the guy out of the school (something I would have done), the teachers form a priestess committee by gathering certain females in the school and having becoming mikos in order to fight against the forces of evil. Somehow, the monster even managed to trip over the broom that these girls laid out. Aren't they brilliant? Yeah, you can see how excited I'm getting. It's just so original...
There are a few cracks in the story, but that's about it. There are a lot of silly parts, and I really don't think it's worth buying. If you like the really shoujo, sweetie-pie, girl-falls-for-guy-and-does-everything-for-him type of plot, by all means, go for it. I really don't recommend it though.
