A CLAMP Masterpiece Feb 13, 2009
reviewed by Keru
It's only one volume with five short stories, but this is one of the most beautiful manga I've ever read. It features CLAMP's classic style in a softened format, and the hardcover edition uses quality paper and color inserts.
Fair warning: as the summary says, this isn't a book of happy endings. Each story is at least bittersweet, if not downright tragic. On the age rating scale...there's a little bit of violence and blood. My only complaint would have to be the length. The stories are all masterfully executed, but I wish they could have been a little longer.
Closing remarks: I won't say it's a must have for any collection, but if you get the chance to read Shirahime-Syo, do so. It's a great glimpse of a Japanese legend and an artistic treat.
Keru also recommended: The One I Love, Legend of Chun Hyang, Yurara,
