Saikano Manga Jan 12, 2008
reviewed by Caramelmoose
This is a wonderful yet somewhat cheesy series. It is quite humorous, but sad. You are quickly introduced to many of the characters, but as the series continues you learn more about them and their backgrounds. If you enjoy sweet love stories mixed with action, this is a manga for you.

The Last Love Song On This Little Planet... Aug 23, 2007
reviewed by Desiree
There is no way to sum up this series in one word, when so many fit it so well. Shin Takahashi delivers a heart-wrenching, but at the same time, absolutely beautiful saga of life, death, war, and love. Thankfully, war is only the backdrop for this love story--Takahashi shies away from drawing the reader into gruesome battle scenes, or intricate and reduntant national politics. He keeps the focus on the star couple, Shuji and Chise, and their struggle to find their own piece of happiness in a crumbling world, however fleeting it may be. There are chapters that will make you laugh, and chapters that will break your heart, and still more chapters that will leave you breathless. The artwork is pretty, and somehow melancholy, very fitting for this series. This story is a masterpiece in every single sense of the word, and you can't help but love it.

Great art, but quite depressing. Jun 13, 2007

The art is gorgeous, and the story can get a little confusing but is very touching. It has some nudity, and war subject..lots of people die. The romance subject is very real and many people will relate to it. But a great buy if you like that kind of manga.
