Best out there! Jun 07, 2007

I do not know why this series is not one of the better known but in my opinion (and I have read over 200 series) this was my first and still is my favorite. There are many twists and turns in the book and most of the characters are likeable and have depth and breadth to them – not cookie cutter. Desh is the tall dark and gloomy hero but boy does he have reason to be – this has one of the most in-depth background stories you will ever see. There are times when you will say “that’s messed up” and other times when you cheer or laugh out loud. I have lent this book to 6 of my students (yes, I am a HS teacher) and all of them agree it is their favorite. I highly recommend!

Holy Mother of Light May 22, 2007

This volume was filled with several twists in the storyline, I found myself surprised with the way things were going at a few points. For anyone following the series from the beginning you know something big is coming. In the last few volumes Deshs character has been growing and developing more sides. The decisions he makes are more strategic, and not just out of bloodlust. Grey on the other hand keeps getting more and more complicated. He has had several chances to kill Deshwitat, yet he seems to have so larger plan where he is concerned. This volume in particular left me screaming for the next, and is filled with some great fight scenes.
