I am surprised this manga is not more well known, because it is absolutely sweet and inspiring. It's the perfect shoujo with an excellent mixture of adventure and romance. You become so attached to the two main characters, you practically end up cheering for them during the tough situations they overcome. It's set pretty far in the past, so being a history fan will make you appreciate it more. Any teenage girl would appreciate this series, and it's not super long (5 volumes) which is a plus.
