Love Triangles Galore! Nov 20, 2007
reviewed by Hestia
This book involves a love triangle between a professor and two students as well as love triangles involving two other students. A group of gay high school boys with complex relationships gets involved with an English teacher who is a gay in denial. The book includes some graphic sex and likeable characters, but the main character--the teacher--is a bad teacher who sleeps around, slaps a student, drinks, comes to school hung over, gambles, and is pretty mean and insensitive at times. He has reasons for being a jerk, but at times it was hard to sympathize. The book does a good job of presenting many of the problems gay men face, and the three main student characters are very likeable. I will buy the second volume because I want to know what happens to the more likeable characters and also to see if the teacher grows and learns. However, I don't see myself frequently rereading this book, and the sex was not spectacularly memorable. Interesting, enjoyable, but not excellent in any way.
