High School Fun!!! Jun 02, 2008

Ok, it is very cliché but I loved the idea of two supposed straight boys getting together at a 90% gay/bi high school for boys only. The plot is pretty standard where the fake relationship between the two boys becomes a genuine relationship. However, by vol 2, the author does tend to be more original. In vol 2, I really liked (and I’m quite surprised by this) the argument and clumsiness that results from the two boys vying for sexual position. The introduction of the classic big brother is also somewhat contrived, but does create some interesting moments where the uke must be open about his sexual orientation.
The cast of supporting characters also saves this work. The school doctor, the best friend who will sleep with anyone, the rejected uke, and others make it interesting to see what happens around the main characters. The side stories with the rejected uke are perhaps the best and I wished that he had his own yaoi series.
Lastly, there are limited edited sex scenes, but plenty of cute kissing scenes and warm moments between the two boys. These moments are really good and well timed. They made the fan girl in me happy.
There is also an additional bonus story that is ok. Personally, I wouldn’t have bothered to include it, since it is not yaoi or even shounen-ai. The work is more there than anything.
