this one reads left to write... Jun 24, 2008

the art work is phenomenal. Its drawn in pencil, and while the actual character design might be thick with manga influence, the pencil technique pushes the style to great heights - each frame is packed with information that has been beautifully rendered.
the story freely flexes between a relationship plot line and a crazy uber-futurist spy/mech/fantasy sub-plot. While many stories may suffer from weak sub-plots, Megatokyo thrives in it, each character and mini-story as compelling as the main plot.
good schtuff

Tokyo as advertised! Jun 24, 2008
reviewed by otherunicorn
We all know what Tokyo is like, don't we? After all, we've seen it in manga, anime, video games and monster movies, haven't we? Add a couple of hapless gameplaying fanboys who fly over there on a drunken whim, without a though for return fairs, throw in zillas, magical girls, mech, a bit of l33t and a couple of convenient voice actresses and you have major mahem, and a lot of very amusing situations. The characters have significant depth to them, and while a lot of the action is shonen in nature, the story has a distinct shoujo feel to it.
