Mars Mar 25, 2008 reviewed by Love_of_Rain
The beautiful god of war, Kira paints Rei as Mars. This series was very beautiful full of romance and real life situations. The characters were very human as if they were someone you might know in class, it shows the beauty of true love, and is full of a somewhat bittersweet angst. I truly loved this book it was one of the most touching things I've ever read. I also enjoyed the Drama it really did do it justice and stuck right with the manga. On the other hand I really don't recommend Mars: A horse with no name I found it uninteresting and not really nessacerry. I suggest just stop at Mars.

Mars Aug 02, 2007 reviewed by Audria (Mars Vol. 01)
Unlike some books, Mars grabs the readers attention by the throat and doesn't let go. Your fingers will just flip through the pages, and before you know it, you're done with one book! You just want to know what happens next. ^.^

It Started Out as a Simple High School Love Story Jul 25, 2007 reviewed by DamageCtrl
While sketching outdoors, quiet artist Kira was approached for directions by charismatic and popular motorcyclist Rei. However, instead of verbally giving him directions, she quickly draws down a map and then rushes off, leaving the handsome young man confused. It isn’t until Rei goes to school and realizes that the girl who gave him directions is actually his classmate. As in any good high school drama, the two fall in love, but that’s just the beginning.
A seemingly innocent love story starts off with the usual obstacles; jealous rivals, former lovers, trouble at school. Then, things start to escalate, leading towards the dark pasts of the duo. Each baring a well hidden past, the two struggle to come to terms with their own demons as well as support the other as a intricate story goes on. Grossly addicting, “Mars” is an intense emotionally driven story that brings two unlikely students together. While seemingly blending in with the barrage of other high school romance mangas out there, “Mars” is a well thought out drama that keeps the reader cheering for the leads. With no magic, curses, transformations or inter-dimensional travel, pure drama keeps the reader hooked. Bits of humor dot the story; keeping it from getting too angst ridden or needlessly dramatic. The characters are easily identifiable with their very human reactions, the story is believable, and can rival any TV drama any day. This manga is highly suggested for those who want a little more than your average high school romantic drama.

Addictive!! Aug 31, 2007 reviewed by ekitty13
The themes are realistic, and the characters are very human. This is a very realistic manga (^^)v I think its more directed to older teens, cuz of the contents and themes that are expressed in this manga. I would recommend it at all times! It's a very popular manga, and in Taiwan, they even made a human version series of it ^o^ it starring Big S and one of the guys from F4 if anyone knows who they are ;) This is a very active storyline and its also a very sad and romantic story... but is very funny at times ^^ this manga is very good and its very addictive! :)

A touching manga. Jun 16, 2007 reviewed by Demoni
This manga has three seperate tales told throughout it, involving characters from the series Mars. It begins with the tale of Rei and Kira, and how they first met, and continues on into two more love stories (one with a bit of a twist at the end). Anyone who's a fan of romance would love A Horse With No Name.

eat your heart out romantic drama Aug 17, 2010 reviewed by Dana
Mars was my very first manga. It's in my top 5. The story is compelling and it's easy to get drawn into Rei and Kira's dramatics. It's the classic story of bad boy meets good girl, but with twists and shocking insight into the character's pasts. I love The development of their relationship through the 15 volumes (16 including A Horse with no name). It's a good series for beginners. It enters more complicated ground, yet it's easy to follow, there aren't too many characters, stories intertwine with eachother to reveal surprises later on, and the drama never ends. Each book has an amazing climax that leaves you shaking from excitement and anticipation until you can get your hands on the next volume. My only suggestion is that you get your hands on at least the first ten volumes before you read any of them, because if you don't you'll be crying for more.
