For the first published manga work of the two, this is an good story with a matching art style that has a lot of promise. Maeve, a succubus in training, dives into the drama filled world of high school to study her future prey in preparation for her career. However, even under the watchful eye of her mentor, she finds herself falling for the quiet, and very much human, Aiden; a slip up that is determined to be caught by the status seeking Sylne. With a steady plot and identifiable characters, “Mark of the Succubus” also carries an eye-friendly art style with different clothing that one can see from outside your window to the halls of an anime convention. Dark over tones of death and seduction are overshadowed, by Sylne’s plot, the forbidden attraction between Aiden and Maeve, as well as unlikely friendships. The drama subtly picks up as the story progresses, promising a slow build up to what looks like an intriguing, and deadly, romance between demon and human. I'd give it 3.5 Stars.
