Good, but too short! Feb 01, 2008

Mail is a rather good detective/mystery/fantasy/horror work. The plot is episodic, but maintains an excellent pace that encourages you to read from one chapter to the next. Each story is entertaining, but after a while becomes somewhat predictiable since each story follows a similar line. It begins to feel like a better version of the Twilight Zone.
The art is realistic and the horror aspects are drawn wonderfully.
It is unfortunate the way this series ends after only three volumes. It feels as if the story could just go on and on like a Rumiko Takashi work. At three volumes it does feel rather abrupt. However, the main character does cross over into another work the Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service. Luckily, the works are not heavily intertwined like CLAMP. If you have the background on Mail's main character great, if not it is explained. Moreover, you can enjoy Mail without ever reading a page of Kurosagi.
Obsessed also recommended: Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service, MPD-psycho, Death Note,
