Dark, brutal, brilliant Nov 01, 2007
reviewed by Uzume (MPD Psycho Vol. 01)
Nothing short of brilliant. Shockingly twisted, gorgeously animated and 2 volumes in, captivating.
It's that lovely dark that tickles the sick bit of your brain that laughs as its fascination with something that should repulse.
Yousuke is just starting to understand his disorder, he hasn't even met all of his personalities as the series kicks off, and as his personal discoveries are being played out he is also wrapped in a much larger ball of sick that is resplendent with serial killers and a secret organization of...well we just don't know yet, but the ride promises to be fun. Just be careful where you step.

Messed up. Oct 18, 2007

MPD Psycho is meeeeeeee-ssed up. There's a lot of hooks and a lot of things that will make you want to learn more about whats going on. Like what is the connection between the bar-codes on people's' eyes and the violence generated by these individuals (and, Jesus, what violence... pretty gore-y stuff here)? Or what is the main character's connection to this all (I don't want to give too much away, I want people to read this)? The inventiveness of the writer is amazing, especially in relation to the more harsh aspects of the story... just read it, its bloody brutal! The characters are pretty straight, which makes the subject matter even more disturbing. I can't wait to read the second installment. Good toilet reading.
