I felt the need to write a review about Loveholic not just because I love the manga, but also because I think the product summary doesn't accurately convey what the story is about.

Loveholic focuses on the relationship between Kentarou, a self-employed photographer, and Daisuke, an employee for an advertising agency. The two of them seem to be opposites: Kentarou is hot-headed and easily angered by people who try his patience, whereas Daisuke is cool and professional. While it seems like they don't get along very well, Daisuke insists on working with Kentarou when he needs photos for his advertising projects.

As the story begins, Kentarou is directing a photo shoot for another of Daisuke's advertising proposals - a project that Kentarou was reluctant to take part in. It is obvious at this point that their relationship is based on work, but it is hardly professional. While Daisuke maintains a professional demeanor at all times, Kentarou responds by being childish and difficult. All of this can be troublesome, especially when the project suddenly runs into problems that can lead to serious consequences for Daisuke's career. Left without any options, Daisuke turns to Kentarou for help. However, Kentarou has problems of his own which could seriously affect his career as well.

Despite their antagonistic relationship, there are signs that they have feelings for each other. In Daisuke's case it's a particular photo that he keeps in his pocket which never fails to bring a smile to his face. In Kentarou's case it is a cache of photos secretly taken of a certain person. But as is often the case, realizing and admitting these feelings is difficult.

The thing that I love about this manga is that it isn't a typical yaoi story with one-dimensional characters. Kentarou in particular is a wonderfully well-written character that could have easily been just another annoying character. He has a quick temper but it becomes evident that more often than not it stems from his strongly held beliefs about respect, courtesy and basic decency towards others. Although childish at times, he is also amazingly mature when it comes to following his heart.

All in all it is a wonderful love story with fair amounts of angst and humor. The characters are interesting and display more depth than is often seen in yaoi characters. The art is nice as well - there are panels where there aren't any text but the characters' faces are so expressive. Whether it's anger, hurt or remorse, it all comes through clearly. I highly recommend this manga.

I randomly found it while browsing the book store, opened to the first pages, read them, and instantly fell in love with it. As i was reading, i got confused though. I had a hard time telling if Sei and Kentaro were the same people. I never found out. I loved the ending and have it memmorized. Once you read it, you'll read it over and over again. I've read it about 69 times in about a week. IT'S ADDICTING!! And I also am wondering if the name Daisuke is like a different way of spelling or if it has the same meaning as daisuki(love)? -- Jessi

I really cried at the end of the first volume FYI it was so sad what happened to that guy and the name that he put to his son omg I was so sentimentally touch by that scene find out that someone was dead after 3 years or something and visiting the grave was like omg just can't describe it you have to find for yourself by reading this awesome manga!!

I love this book and from the second I randomly bought it at the book store, I became addicted to it. The art was exelent, as the case with most mangas. I loved the character Nishioka very much. He reminded me of Joey from Yu-Gi-Oh! (which I am also addicted to)and Daisuke reminded me of Seto. I am a big fan of Fan Fiction and love those two together and that is why I bought the book in the first place. I have read this book exactly 32 times, and cried at the end every time. Why? You'll just have to read it.
