Its Yaoi, its sex, but its so sweet. So far there are two couples that are very cute together and a moderate ammount of sex. The story is very compelling.

Awesome series Jun 08, 2007

Love Mode has to be one of my favorite boy's love (yaoi) series available in English. There are 4 main characters (2 sets of couples) and a slew of side characters that really make the story engrossing. I absolutely adore the characters in this series! The story telling can be anywhere from silly light fluff to serious and sad moments. The drawing style is also very beautiful. There are some explicit sex scenes though, so be warned. It's not over the top smut, but it's not censored either. Really though, the feelings of love between the couples is very sweet and the characters very lovable. I highly recommend it!

Read this series. Jan 12, 2008

Yes, it's a drama--you will get choked up occasionally. Yes, it's longer than most yaoi series--you will have to dig a bit deeper into your pockets. And yes, some don't care for Yuki Shimizu's art style--but you'll get over it.
I was ecstatic when Blu began to translate and publish Love Mode, and even more pleased that they hadn't dumbed-down the series, which is sadly typical with many yaoi (or suggestive) titles. (Mind, I'd prefer it if they had kept referring to Kiichi as sensei, since Doctor just doesn't have the same feel... But I digress.)
Yuki Shimizu has a flair for the dramatic and the heart-wrenching, and Love Mode is an excellent series for anyone with the guts to muster through. The characters are wonderfully endearing--there's someone every reader can identfiy with, or at least root for in this series. Yuki Shimizu also possesses a wonderful (and, at times, slightly sadistic) sense of humor, which makes this series all the better to read again and again.
The stories are beautiful, the sex scenes are hot, and if all else fails, at least you can impress all of your Japanese friends with your uncanny knowledge of how what a Host Club is and how it works--and you thought manga wasn't culturally enriching!
