Issues May 30, 2007 reviewed by Tuttle
This series addresses serious issues in most highschoolers lives. Ayumu is a very depressed person with no guidance. It's almost a disturbing manga. I do reccoment people read it but its not for everyone.

Strong story, not for everyone Jun 22, 2007 reviewed by Klinkekula
This is a story about life, but not the bright side of it. It's a strong, psychological story about the dark side of school-life. Bullying, suicide, cutting, depression, harassment and so on. The story evolves into a stronger and stronger theme, and it's not for everyone. It's still a good manga though, beautiful style of drawings, and a well written script. Most people will come to love the main character, who's sweet and innocent (even though she will be blamed for alot of things throught the story). You'll end up feeling really sorry for her.
I recomend checking out Confidential Confessions before reading this title. It has the same genre and you'll get a taste of what's to come in Life.

life=evil Dec 03, 2008 reviewed by tachiri2617
you think you have it bad? try being back-stabbed, rape, betrayed, called a lair, and being held black-mailed because the only way you feel you can do about it is cut yourself. Ayumu is trying the best she can, but all she seems to get is more pain. this book is written by a psychologist who conveys that life isn't always nice. and that some people can be really just downright evil. This may not be a typical situation that happen, more of more things then you would expect in one person's life, but it breaks down how many events can effect a girl.
I DO NOT recommend this book for the FAINT OF HEART, and this will seriously mess with your head.

Highschool life.... Oct 09, 2007 reviewed by tenohikari
Been there, done that - but I don't think it was anything close to the hell the story's protagonist: Ayumu Shiba, has to go through. Her world is a total nightmare full of bullying and blackmail unrealistic and yet realistic at the same time. And sometimes, just when things couldn't get any worse, they do and somehow Ayumu manages to endure and you can't help admire her for that. I've watched the first season of the Japanese drama and I think I actually like the manga a lot more. I can't wait to see how things turn our for Ayumu.

A dark pit of Angst! Sep 25, 2007 reviewed by Brittany Moo
If you like your characters boundlessly inhumane, situations frustrating and your manga gritty then I say read this manga. It deals with many controversial issues like self harm, rape and bullying (they really cram alot of it in). It really grips you, which can be good as it makes you feel, however whether those feelings are a good thing is another matter entirely. But when Ayumu achieves anything, even if it's just small victory it's worth the turmoil. Read if you like an emotional struggle.

Life Sep 14, 2007 reviewed by Fluffyrain
Alrighty, well uh, it's definally a drama. The usual, sex preds, cutting, betrayal, frienchips, O, teenage drama! And that is basically what it is. PROS: Teenage drama, pretty good art, can relate/ has universal emotions CONS: Its not original enough, plot is somewhat questionable, not unique style of art, even though it good, its not unique. ALL THE COVERS ARE ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME!!! Which to me, equals BORING. But uh, I don't know, I think theres more interesting manga out there then this, I stopped after the second book, I grew tired of it.
