Too bad there won't be more... Mar 13, 2009
reviewed by Keru
As far as global manga or OEL or whatever they're calling it these days goes, Last Hope seemed like a promising title ready to rise above the unfortunate fates of its American-made peers. The world hopping storyline was slightly reminiscent of CLAMP's Tsubasa with a scientific edge replacing magical exploits, and the art was beautiful- a fine mix of Japanese influence and the author's personal touches.
Sadly, though, this project has officially been labeled unfinished, so if you search for Volume 3, it will be in vain.
Now, as ticked off as I am that there will not be any more books in this series, I am glad to have bought the two books available, if for nothing other than their art and the hope they instilled of good OEL/world manga to come. However, I realize that many won't feel the same way, so consider this fair warning.
Um, content warnings if you do pick 'em up: violence and a tiny bit of language.
