A Normal Girl with a Magical Violin Jun 30, 2007
reviewed by Kimmi09
Hino was just another student at an elite music school. But seeing as how the school is separated into the talented and no-so, Hino was part of the latter. That was until a fairy that was protecting the school gave Hino a magical violin that anyone could play with their feelings. Hino was shocked at this sudden turn of events, and was practically forced to play in concerto with amazingly talented students. As time went by she gradually started accepting the idea that music is played for enjoyment, and that she was playing for everyone to enjoy. She makes a few friends (who are concerto players as well). Tsukimori, another violin player, is stoic and doesn't seem to get along with anyone. Tsuchiura, the piano player, is very popular and happens to be the captain of the soccer club. The other players in the concerto include the flute, cello, trumpet, and obo. While these seven people play their instruments to themes given out at the start of each concerto, each one is hoping to win first place. Hino has to struggle with raising expectations along with problems that come her way. Does Tsuchiura feel anything for Hino, or is it just his customary kindness? Will Tsukimori ever open up to anyone, Hino in particular? The anime for this series is really good as well, seeing as how La Corda d'Oro involves instruments it's pretty cool to hear the music they play. The animation is top notch too.

Musical Romance ^-^ Aug 05, 2007

Beautiful, stunning art, and the music of the story, though on a page in black and white, you can almost hear the music, every delicate note.
A definite must-read! ^-^
