Amazing Series Feb 01, 2008
reviewed by Obsessed
As stated in the summary, Kurosagi is about a group of freshly graduated college teens who deliver the dead. Each member of the team has a specific power that helps the group out, which may sound korny but plays out well. (As it shows on the book's cover, one can dowse for dead bodies, one embalms, one can channel a foul mouthed alien, one can communicate with the dead, and one can research very well.)
The plots are episodic but intensely entertaining. The writing is filled with sarcastic remarks, deeply sad moments, and some great (but mild) detective work. The art is rather realistic for a manga which is a refreshing change. The background detail is rather amazing at points and shows a great deal of talent.
Overall, a fantastic read for those who love mystery with a side of humor and fantasy.
