Fallen for Rain Mar 25, 2008
reviewed by Love_of_Rain
Immortal Rain is such a touching story and contains a little bit of everything there's comedy, romance, a bit of pyschoticness and a story line that to my opinon is very origenal. The character Rain is so well thought out and protrayed that you really start to feel for him, he really becomes real (Sadly for me he became to real I devolped a crush on him -^ ^-) and it's one of those books that teaches you, you really need to love life and love others that are important to you. Read it if you get the chance It's really worth it ><

A welcome treasure Sep 04, 2007

I bought this series simply on recommendation, and I sincerely thank that person. This manga's plot easily bridges shoujo and shounen genres, and interestingly enough, so does the art. Clean, anime-esqe lines with a good sense of figure and action; something you don't see so often in shoujo (unless you love Miwa Ueda!).
To start, the characters range from driven girl bounty hunter, to princesses, to immortal beings. The main heroine, Machika, sets out to get the head of the Immortal, Rain, to make a name for herself. She soon finds that things aren't as simple as they seem, and conspiracies into larger plots soon complicate her future. Beginning to step into the odd and grotesque (though many good shoujo do have blood, guns, strange creatures and violient births) in the current volumes, Immortal Rain still retains its innocence through Machika's pure heart and her hopes therein. Have to hand it to this manga that it manages to make a unique plot without going completely over the top and confusing the reader.
Great for anyone that enjoys those middle-ground safety series (like Evangelion), and definitely worth a read. My only regreat with this series is that Tokyopop seems to release at the rate of a slug on sedatives. I actually had to e-mail them to make sure they were still continuing the series, as I hadn't seen a new volume in almost a year. Can't blame that on the manga, though.

I found the plot of Immortal Rain to be very touching and kept my intrest to know if Rain could really ever fall in love with Machika. I believe that this story sends the message that love can really over come any obstical. The character's personality's are developed I think perfectly with the plot and its deffinantly worth reading.
