Hikaru No Go Synopsis: Hikaru Shindo is like any sixth-grader in Japan: a pretty normal school boy with a two-tone head of hair and a penchant for antics. One day, he finds an old bloodstained Go board in his grandfather's attic-and that's when things get really interesting. Trapped inside the Go board is Fujiwara-no-Sai, the ghost of an ancient Go master who taught the strategically complex board game to the Emperor of Japan many centuries ago. In one fateful moment, Sai becomes a part of Hikaru's consciousness and together, through thick and thin, they make an unstoppable Go-playing team. Will they be able to defeat Go players who have dedicated their lives to the game? Will Sai achieve the "Divine Move" so he'll finally be able to rest in peace? Begin your journey with Hikaru and Sai in this first volume of Hikaru no Go.

Stunnin series.... Jun 22, 2007 reviewed by Eimajtl
At first this may seem like it would be a boring series, I mean, reading about playing Go? That is the worst thing to think about this manga! Not only will you learn a lot about the game, but you will have the chance to see one of the best instances of character development ever.
You really get to see how the characters struggle and overcome great challenges. You'll also see them age, which is pretty rare in both manga and anime!

Manga about board games... I can't believe I love it.... Jul 25, 2007 reviewed by Rainy
I started reading this manga cause a few of my friends were really getting into it. At first I was turned off by reading a manga about a board game that I didn't really know how to play. But now, I can't get enough. It's a good solid shonen, that makes you get all excited about kids playing games. :D

MAnga worth reading, GO buy it now Jul 30, 2007 reviewed by The Furry Panda
This Manga got me interested in GO! a Japanese board game, its just like reading an action manga but you might need to pay attention a little bit more, if you cant play GO, DON'T GET TURNED OFF. It teaches you and shows you what is going on throughout the series so your never left behind. I would recommend this series to anybody with a little extra time on there hands that doesn't mind learning and being entertained at the same time!

Great Series Jul 25, 2007 reviewed by seasovereign
This series isn't the Yugioh clone people think it is when they only hear the basic summery. This series is one of the best mangas I've ever read and the anime brings further life to a great adventure. Its sure to make you laugh and keep you interested in its rich story.
In the beginning, it seems to only focus on Sai and Hikaru, but soon it starts involving other characters with their own goals and motivations. Its great whether your a Go player or not.
