I Never Knew One Kid Could Get Kidnapped So Much! Oct 18, 2007

Even though the plot for many of the chapters in this story call for the repeated kidnapping of one of the main characters there are enough twists and new developments in the storyline to keep you coming back for more.
While often mistaken to be a shounen-ai or yaoi manga, due to the misleading description of the story on the back cover, Hands Off is nothing of the sort. Aside from the liberal use of profanity and suggestive language this is a rather clean and heart warming manga series. Though there are many serious subjects touched on throughout the story, with the drama that comes with them, Hands Off is a rather light hearted and comedic manga. The art work is well done and I'd recommend it to any fan of Japanese comics.
Pros: Very clean and heart warming story about friendship, Lovely art work, Engaging storyline, Endearing characters.
Cons: The profanity might be too much for some readers (it managed to make my eyes roll at times), Not a fan of Americanization and some of that is evident here but not too much unlike some other titles I've seen.
Overall Opinion; I know it's a given that some characters in stories may have foul mouths but in this story nearly everyone has a hard time keeping it clean. I've often thought that it was really out of character for certain characters to use such language and that along with the Americanization attempts irked me, though not enough to over look the powerful story and good character development. Despite the couple of things that irritate me about the series I found it be a rather clean story that leaves you with a warm and fuzzy feeling making it a good manga to start off with or add to your collection.

Hands Off Jul 05, 2007

It is a cute story. The art may not be perfect, but the series is still cute. When I first picked up the first volume, I thought it would be a yaoi(boy x boy) But it isn't, but I won't hold that against it.
