You can smell it coming... BLOODY WALKING SHARKS! Oct 30, 2007

Gyo is awesome. It creeped me out pretty bad by the end of the first book. It took something so mundane and turned it into something cringe worthy. Fish... undead walking fish! Holy crap! What an idea! Its bloody nonsense really... the whole idea behind the book. So silly, but Junji Ito makes it work and almost believable. I loved the way he developed Kaori... she had such a sensitive nose which was almost like Spidey-sense. And she was such a whiner about it... I was in love with her so bad... until the hanging fart scene (not very sexy, I tell you). The art made it enjoyable too. It is really good art. I highly recommend this title... I still gotta read the second volume, but I'm pretty sure it won't dissapoint... especially with the hint of things to come. Awesome awesome toilet reading.

The smell won't leave! Oct 09, 2007

The beginning of this was pretty...not boring, but just...nothing special. The more I read though, the more interesting it became. Such a strange but entertaining story. Lots of people hate the smell of seafood and this manga turns the stench into something scary. The art is especially good and frightening and is the best part. The ending I thought was a bit humorous too.
