Mystery with a touch of Horror Dec 06, 2007

Ghost Hunt really picks up in both storyline and artwork beginning in vol 6. Vol 1-3 are good for background info. Vol 4 & 5 starts to pick up, but are surpassed by vol 6 & 7. By now the formula seems to be that the even numbered vol is the beginning of the story with the following odd numbered vol ending the story. (i.e. 6&7, 8&9 are complete stories) In truth the coupled vols could be considered stand alone works. You would only be missing some subtle jokes regarding past investigations.
The stories require more concentration than a typical manga. There is a wealth of information regarding the particular haunting or paranormal event. The characters are not really all that important despite the fact that the author does attempt at characterization from time to time. This is perfect for the horror aspect of the work. The focus is and should be on the paranormal activities - the characters are only there to pull the story out. Even if this is a drawback for some.
The art is clean and creepy begining in vol 6. The first 1/2 of the stories are not extremely notable with the exception few pages. (Most background for the second half) In the second 1/2 of each work the horror aspect is picked up significantly. Overall, the art is good and not typical for a manga at all. It is more realistic.
Overall, this is not a typical manga and is deeply engrossing. If you enjoy any form of mystery this is one work you cannot pass up.

Something for the intellects Jun 05, 2007

The art and story is amazing...but more then a little wordy. There's alot of mystery and suspence and a surprising amount of comedy too. If your into psychic stuff and want to learn more, this series is good for you. ^_^ I love it, it appeals to my love of mystery.

Absoultly love the series.They are cleverly written and the manga pictures are awesome.It is the best series ever and i would recommend it for anyone who loves to read. Go grab a copy!!!
