Laugh Out Loud Funny! - Full Metal Panic Overload! Jun 19, 2008
reviewed by amusmental (Julie)
Way fun to read! This is the same characters and general storyline as the original Full Metal Panic story, except that this centers specifically around the characters interactions in a school setting, sans most of the actual army and government stuff. The artwork is much more cute-style and it wasn't just taking out the fighting bits; it just had new bits we didn't see in the first series. I really had a blast reading it and laughing at all the blatantly ridiculous situations and reactions on the part of Sosuke. Check it out!

The Schoolgirl and the Soldier Jul 25, 2007
reviewed by DamageCtrl
Chidori Kaname is a gifted young woman; beautiful, talented, charismatic, and somehow knows things that most people don’t. And those that don’t know those things, want to capture her. Enter Sagara Sosuke, Mithril agent, soldier of fortune extraordinaire and, upon taking up the mission to protect Kaname, an extremely awkward high school student. As if the teen years weren’t difficult enough, Kaname takes it upon herself to help battle loving, gun totting Sosuke become an ideal student. Or at least stop him from destroying the school in his efforts to ‘protect’ her.
While the main background plot of the story deals with a mix of military mecha action and civilian-soldier drama, FMP! carries a large amount of humor. Sosuke’s failing attempts at normal student life, Kaname’s attempts to get through the day without the school blowing up, as well as trying to keep their friends from finding out that Sosuke is an undercover soldier for a secret organization. Despite the laughs, when it’s time for serious action and drama, FMP! delivers it with well placed ease. With crisp, clean artwork, lovable characters, and a plot that weaves action, drama, a lot of humor (and even a tiny bit of love) together in all the right places, FMP! is perfect for a nice summer read. It’s a great manga for action-comedy.

Really great manga May 25, 2007

The first time I bought it I wasn't sure to like it, but with the great art and the humour I changed my mind. This serie have a great humour and funny carather even if the story line is more serious. With Sosuke and Chidori you won't be bored.
