Something to prove... Feb 13, 2009
reviewed by aklishak
Coud Van Guret is lazy, immature and unexperienced. But today is different... Today responsabilty falls into his lap, in the form of an edel raid... and a girl. He doesnt understand what that is until an inevitable attack on his ship forces Ren, the girl to choose Coud as a pleasure( Person an Edel Raid reacts with). It wouldnt be a big deal but this bond is until one of them dies... And believe it, lots of people want Coud to die cause Ren is special...

The best manga book in this series... Feb 06, 2009
reviewed by aklishak (Elemental Gelade Vol. 07)
Rowen begins to fall for Coud's stalker, Viro, and Kuea eats alot! As usual... But she also finally tells Rowen to man up and do his duty as a member of Arc Aile instead of letting his emotions control him. Coud feels indebted to the group for the train incident and works furiously for a new way of getting around.

Elemental Review Jul 05, 2007
reviewed by Spirit Archer
I first picked up EG at Phoenix Anime Fest. The thing that usually draws me to a manga is both the story and the art. This time, the art took me as I saw Coud on the cover. When I opened it up, I was introduced to a colorful scene of a break in, sky pirates, and a sleeping child. To simply put, I had to have it because of the sky pirates.
I was drawn in more as I read and found that Ren was a silly girl. Though she's often portrayed as tired or bored (or even sleeping!) she gives me that classic feeling that she holds something deep in her, thus why she was locked away. I also find the character Cisqua quite funny, as she's very loud and pushes her group on to Coud, forcing them to follow him. This creates the wonderful hero team (not very wonderful, as Cisqua's small group tries to pry Ren away from Coud still).
Overall, the story sounds like something I've seen before (I can't remember what though at the moment), but with the addition of pirates, Edel Raids and some fan service (for the boys!), this is a story I would suggest to you. :)

A little bit pointless Jun 26, 2008
reviewed by MadiX
This series completely got my hopes up. The art is pleasing to the eye, yet the storyline is boring, and the characters (aside from the main male character) are hard to get attached to. Even after reading the 1st manga three times, I still couldn't get interested in it. I can't say what the other books are like, but I'd advise to stray away from this book, unless you enjoy reading books which are simply drawn well.

I really like this Manga alot. I like how the edel raids and human interaction is done. I wont spoil it so pick it up if you like comedy/fantasy with a little fighting on the side.
