Fantastic start to a Dragonball Z series!! Oct 25, 2007
reviewed by Manga Reader
I cannot believe no one wrote a review on this great series!
When I saw that there was two series called Dragonball and Dragonball Z, I said to myself, I prefer Dragonball because I don't want to read about Goku as a boy, not a man in Dragonball Z. Also Dragonball covers looked more interesting. As I read the first volume, I immediately became hooked into the story, reading about a cute, innocent boy who discovers who he is as he grows up.
The story is simple, straightforward and funny!! I loved it so much that I had to continue on to the Dragonball Z series. The characters from Dragonball grow up at the end of the series and then move onto Dragonball Z books. There is alot of fighting. Get this, I am an adult female reader and I loved reading about the fights because the fights are different than your ordinary fights. The guys fly, shoot balls of fire, float, & do all kinds of unique things to each other.
It's an excellent story to read, longest story I've ever read in my life and loved every page of it. (I am an adult!!) Adults and children will love it!!

This vol. was the better then the first volume!
Meet naive young monkey-tailed boy Goku, whose quiet life changes when he meets Bulma, a girl on a quest to collect seven Dragon Balls. If she gathers them all, an incredibly powerful dragon will appear and grant her one wish. But the precious orbs are scattered all over the world, and Bulma needs Goku's help (and his super-strength)! With a magic staff for a weapon and a flying cloud for a ride, Goku sets out on the adventure of a lifetime...
