The Someone Just For Me Jul 30, 2007 reviewed by machina
Girl trouble is nothing but reality to Hideki, the boy who seems to live in the past; while everyone else has updated technology he is stuck without a persocom; a multitasking computer in the form of a human; of his own. One day on his way home, Hideki comes across a girl in the trash, a girl wrapped in bandages that appears to have been left behind; but she appears to be dead...
Or only just shut down. Naming the newly found persocom Chii, Hideki enters the world of computers and learns that love comes in many forms; some of which that are not even human. With the mysterious photographs of Chii and his landlady, Hideki has a lot of things to understand; some of which can't be found in a manual.

Romantic and Suspensful Feb 18, 2009 reviewed by Miss MisaMisa
I finished up my last manga in this series and I reread them often because they are hilarious and romantic. I enjoyed the happy ending but I didn't like that it ended so soon and with many questions. But overall this was a good manga for people who are a first time reader of manga and romantic novels as well.

Chobits Review Oct 11, 2008 reviewed by ChocoMilkTea
I gave everything about this manga a 5 because I felt that it was 100% deserving of it. I would gladly recommend this manga to anyone looking for romance, sci-fi, shonen, and an overall good read.
Story~
The story was quite amazing and well-developed. It develops smoothly as the manga progress. It's well balanced as it does not have tons of dramatic events, but it doesn't progress slowly. I think it's one of CLAMP's best works, and that's quite the statement considering CLAMP often has great story line's. I also thought the writing was realistic; the 19-year-old actually sounded like a 19-year-old, and not a 30-year-old or something, which sometimes happens when a manga is not well-written. Also unlike some other mangas, I found the ending to be appropriate for the story and not dramatic; it was something the reader's wanted.
Art~
The art was also very amazing and pleasing. It was detailed yet not overwhelming with tons of lines and markings that make it hard for your eyes to stay on the picture. The covers were very beautiful, always focusing on one color yet the figure was always in a different outfit and in a different pose. One thing I found especially pleasing about this manga was the backgrounds and buildings. Every object and building was skillfully drawn and realistic.
Characters~
I found the characters to be wonderful for this manga. Every character has a wonderful place in the storyline. There's Hideki, the poor cram-school student that has almost no luck at all in the big city; Chi, the beautiful persocom (humanoid computer) that Hideki finds in the trash who also carries an amazing secret; Shimbo, Hideki's classmate and neighbor who always lends a helping hand; Hideki's Landlady, who is more significant to the story then she lets on and is also very kind; and Yumi, the young girl who works with Hideki and has the hots for him, but has an emotional sore due to persocoms.
Summary~
I really loved this manga, and I would gladly recommend it to ANYONE looking to start a manga. Despite it's feminine covers, I would say this manga is more shonen due to it's mature themes, woman figures, and sci-fi story line. However, this manga would no doubt be a great read for any gender. I really enjoyed this manga because of it's characters, beautiful art, and heartwarming story.
Please note that this manga is OT for ages 16+ and I don't think you should read it unless you can handle f-bombs, tasteful nudity, and mild fan service/mature themes.

Sweet and simply put, this cute little story is excellent for everyone, boys and girls, young and old. I adored the story, the artwork, and the bond between Hediki and Chii. If you like love storys, get it. If you don't like love storys, get it. If you are not sure if you do not or do like love storys, get it. You will not be displeased (:

Great Series! Jun 16, 2008 reviewed by Abby
Humor, romance, and a look into a man's perverse mind! Chobits is definately different from the average, generic anime. At first, the series was very funny and lively, but as it progressed, it became more dramatic and complicated. I would recommend this series to anyone who has a diverse taste in anime genres, as well as a tolerance for crude humor.

I'd recommend Chobits to anyone May 09, 2008 reviewed by ChloeBlack101
Chobits is still one of my all time favorite animes. I got to see the first few eps at an anime party my friends had, and I was instantly hooked!
Chobits is just so hilarious and adorable on so many levels. There are so many cute, often pervy moments. What could go wrong with a guy, living on his own, and a girl-like computer that doesn't know how to speak, let alone dress herself?
Aside from the hilarity and cuteness, there are side-stories that are just awesome, and the main plot itself has a twist that I just loved. Chobits is not just cute; it'll keep you guessing until the end. Truly, one anime I would recommend anyone watch, no matter what kind of anime you like.

Another Wonderful series by CLAMP! Aug 28, 2007 reviewed by woundsthatbleed (Chobits Vol. 01 - 08 Complete Manga Set)
I would call myself a huge CLAMP fan so I was instantly drawn to Chobits. You will notice on the covers of all the Chobits manga features the character Chi who is niave to the world and kind to everyone, but especially to Hideki. Chi is very adorable in all her outfits, but what is most striking about her is her dedication and love for Hideki. She knows nearly nothing about the world yet finds herself falling in love. It is such a fun series to read watching Chi learn about the world and finding the someone just for her. If your a hopeless romantic this series will fit you perfectly. Oh...also watching Hideki try to teach Chi about the world and how to be a persocom can be very funny so some laughing will be involved as well. What is a persocom you ask? You'll have to crack open a copy of volume one and find out!

Strange Aug 05, 2007 reviewed by Natalie
Very CLAMP-like. But I was a little dissapointed. The story is that sort of vauge destiny laced stuff that you sometimes see, especially in Japanese Sci-Fi stuff. But it's not bad, as usual the art work is top notch and the story flows well, even if it can be a little weird at times.

lovely Clamp as always Dec 17, 2008 reviewed by Mel
As ever, Clamp pulled off a lovely story again with Chobits. Chi is beautiful, and while I don't understand Hideki having different eyes from everyone else in the manga, he is still a sweet guy. The series is short but sweet and I enjoyed it completely. If you like Clamp, this is for you, even though the humor is much older then most others they do, and usually sexual. It's not to heavy, but I wouldn't be handing this to a young person, defiantly older teen at least. Also, its just different enough from the anime to be wonderful. Cant recommend this enough
