Coffee, Tea or Cafe Kichijouji de? May 30, 2007
reviewed by starling_heron
Charming, laugh-out loud funny and just a touch insane is how I would describe this delightful series. Five adorable and oh so very different guys work and create ever increasing types of mayhem at a quaint little cafe--much to the chagrin of their employer. But it's a sweet treat for the reader! Definitely the type of series you will want to read whenever you need a little pick me up.

An overall good series May 23, 2007

Cafe Kichijouji de is primarily a comedy about the lives of five bishounen waiters at a cafe. Each of the boys has radically different personalities, from being a neat-freak, a total slob, or a master of the dark arts who likes to bake cakes. With this bunch, life is never boring and always hilarious.
The manga is episodic in nature, so none of the stories really carry over, but are enjoyable nonetheless. The main chapters are separated by little chibi chapters where the characters are drawn in chibi-style and still get into their normal bouts of weird mayhem. The chibi episodes just add more cuteness to the manga. It's already adorable enough, so there's just more to love.
If you like series such as Ouran High School Host Club with lots of bishounen, insanity, and occasional mock or playfully false shonen ai hinting, then you'll definitely enjoy this series. There are only three volumes and it might leave you itching for more of these boys' wacky adventures inside a cafe, but you'll just have to be satisfied with these volumes, and I'm sure you will be. ^_^
