First off, the art is great. Looks realistic and brings intrest into the story. MAkes it a joy to read. Back plot is well thought and comes into later stories gracfully. Plenty of commendy and action. If you like guns this is for you! Oh, side notes Train looks HOT in a suit, and Creed is an obsevivly scary bad guy. Romance is kept to a mnum mentions of only in the past. Loved the story. Even my freind loves it, she rarly buys but she bought these! Buy or at least read!

BLACK CAT is a great introduction to Shonen Manga because it highlights all the best points of Shonen, interesting Villains, cool weapons, and awesome fight scenes. BLACK CAT is a great manga to show you what a Shonen can really be like.

This series is a lot of fun!! Nothing to serious and really the characters have minimal depth, but I enjoy taking it easy with out too much to think about. Two bounty hunters and a girl who can change parts of her body (Terminator T100 here we go) into objects make a rather amusing group. I think there is going to be more of an underlying story line that is creeping up over time that will add depth – it can already be seen.

Juvenile, cliche, over-done-slapstick, flat characters and story, this is Black Cat. As the story goes, its been done countless times before, a story of a protagonist trying to rid himself of the past but eventually having to face it to protect his friends. Of course there aren't many different plots to choose from, but it does nothing to distinguish itself as a new version of the story. Average story, but this is obviously a child's Manga in the sense that you can already tell whats going to happen because its not hard to guess. The story follows the character of Train Heartnet and his gang of misfits as they go collecting bounty's from runaway criminals. Him and his gang soon get caught up with Train's past. Inspired by Cowboy Bebop, sadly it doesn't come close to Bebop, as its characters fight evil bosses and monsters with chi-like powers. The fights are average, but the villains continually say one lines in between the fights: No ones ever missed my shot! This guys strong and so forth. The anime goes for a darker approach but fails because the characters are too noble and lack good personalities.

Quite simply, Black Cat is an excellent, yet cliched manga. Train is a bit of a clutzy, happy-go-lucky hero with a dark past type of stereotypical character, but Black Cat really succeeds in making it more about the action than the personalities of the characters. Some of the more developed characters (Eve, for instance) are genuinely interesting, but that really isn't the point. It's just decent action with a decent plot. Not much more than that, but it's not as though that is a bad thing.

This manga has excellent art, is not so long of a series (IIRC about 20 or so volumes) and it has a nice concept. It has comedy and action, as most SJ titles do. The characters are drawn pretty, the females are sexy and the men in the series... Well, I am a man, but I can say they appear to be very pretty to most of the girls. It has some cliches but the overall story is pretty good and entertains you.

So, go buy this manga if you like good art and guns, and if you do it, we might get To-Love-RU quicker.

Black Cat is the best! Filled with action and many weapons, Black Cat was what introduced me to manga. It is absolutely the best!
