Fun for All Ages Dec 05, 2008
reviewed by Keru
This series was the first manga I picked up, and I still love it. However, if you're looking for a deep, dark, twisted plot with nefarious criminals and passionate romance, this isn't it. Angelic Layer is a cute, comical, easy-on-the-wallet 5 volume series that's, as my review title says, fun for all ages. Whether you're an old fan of CLAMP's amazing artwork or a young newbie looking for a light, easy read, this series is wonderful. Added bonus: there's nothing to send parents on a chucking-manga-out-the-window-spree in here, so relax and enjoy. A nice addition to any collection.

Absolute Fun!! Apr 04, 2008

After reading the entire series, I must absolutly recommend it for those who love fun and zany antics. CLAMP has created an ADORABLE game who's rising star player (the heroine) faces many challenges and overcomes them with an endearing and unfaltering trust in her doll, friends, and family. The story is quickpaced and very nearly nonestop action and mayham. But there are moments of tranquility that balances out the craziness and would bring a smile to any audiance. I totally recommend this series to the young and old alike. There is much we can learn about faith and trust from watching Misaki and her angel Hikaru.

Fun, dolls that you only wish you could have... Jul 07, 2007

This is a fun manga that makes you wish the game they play existed. This was one of the first manga I ever read and deffinatly took part in getting me hooked in the world of manga and anime. It's yet another classic one by CLAMP
It's about a girl who moves in with her aunt to go to school but on the way there she discovers the highly popular game of Angelic Layer; Dolls that are controled by their owners thoughts to fight in turnements. From there you get to meet alot of fun characters and even get a tiny bit of romantic plot.
It is one of those manga that makes a good starter for begining manga readers of a younger age( though it might give them bad ideas about creepy men in labcoats named Ichan xD ). It has alot of good ...and the morlal to this story is... moments in it to inspire younger readers, but when you go back and read it when you're older you catch other bits that you didn't see then and little jokes that make it a keeper, because you'll go back and read it again. But it is definately ment for a younger audience so keep that in mind.
A good series with a bit of heart, I'd recomend it to any fan of CLAMP, new reader ,or nostalgic reader.
